Our vision.

We have one clear vision: All women thrive in all beer spaces.

UK beer has been called out as having a culture of discrimination, harassment, and worse by people with lived experience in the industry. Alongside the impact of a brutal pandemic, this has shaken the foundations of an industry upon which British society was built. The future of the UK beer industry is unclear.

What has been clear for a very long time is that beer continues to be a space primarily for and owned by men. Within so many beer circles, sexism is still rife and women continue to feel excluded. Worse still, many women have had such traumatic personal experiences within beer spaces they have entirely disengaged from the idea of ever wanting to be a part of it. In related news the UK has the lowest percentage of women beer drinkers in the world.

Change is long overdue. Beer has the power to do incredible good and beer people have the passion and drive to lead others who are facing and perpetrating similar behaviours by example.

We know change does not happen overnight and we know the pandemic has been a setback globally in progress made towards equality, so on we go.

Our mission is to influence, support, and help shape a beer industry fit for the future and resilient, where women have equal opportunities, feel welcome, and are safe. We will do this by getting creative, making art, collaborating with good people, celebrating the positive impact women have on beer, and showcasing the advantages a feminist beer industry can bring.

We hope you’ll join us along the way.

OUR VISION | All women thrive in all beer spaces.

OUR MISSION | We aim to ensure all women feel welcome, are safe, and have equal opportunities in beer.

OUR MANIFESTO |

  1. All women are safe, welcome, and supported in beer workplaces and public beer spaces.

  2. Women are equally represented

    - in beer marketing

    - in brewery, pub and bar staff teams

    - and in beer leadership

  3. All women have regular and easy access to social, exploratory, and educational beer opportunities, designed with them in mind.

  4. There are positive women role models and spokespeople who are prevalent in the media and public eye who speak about beer and related matters (and not only being a woman in beer).

  5. All women are supported and developed in their beer careers, to include suitable management and leadership programmes and succession planning.

OUR VALUES |

We put people first - we exist to focus on all women, but we want a fairer world for all people and we will champion everyone we meet on this shared path.

We’re positive - no matter what, we continue on our mission with our heads held high and our hearts full.

We’re kind - we are generous and warm, without judgement or exception.

We’re collaborative - we believe in shared purpose and that we are stronger together as we strive for equality.

We’re resilient - we focus on what we can do, rather than dwelling on what we can’t.

We’re agile - as the world and industry continues to change, we will evolve and adapt alongside it, remaining committed to what we have set out to do.

We’re creative - we appreciate the positive influence all kinds of creativity and the power of the arts can have as part of our mission, and we embrace it.
