Why we focus on women.
While our work focuses on gender, we recognise that inequity exists across many dimensions. We don’t claim to speak for all experiences of discrimination; we acknowledge the limits of our resources, knowledge, and lived experiences. However, we strive to include and elevate these perspectives in our work, because our vision of equity is one that leaves no one behind.
We lead with gender because it’s something we all relate to and experience, and because it's a powerful entry point for understanding how patriarchy and bias harm everyone. Addressing gender inequity helps unlock the wider cultural and structural changes needed to inspire empathy, shift mindsets, and build a more equitable society for all.
What do we mean when we say ‘women’?
When we say women, we mean all women.
Our definition is explicitly inclusive of trans women and anyone who identifies as a woman. We stand for solidarity over division, and we represent and champion all women who support and uplift one another.
We believe that trans and non-binary rights are fundamental to feminist progress. Their inclusion enriches and strengthens our shared movement toward gender equity.
Our work is rooted in collaboration. We are committed to working alongside LGBTQI+ partners to confront and dismantle all forms of oppression together, building a safer and more just society for everyone.
