Charles Faram Hop Walk® On Tap - A Special Experience Day for Beer Unlocked

As well as offering direct financial support through Beer Unlocked - our new bursary scheme - we are working with a range of industry partners to create and offer complimentary or subsidised opportunities for women, non-binary and gender-diverse people to network, learn and progress.

We're thrilled to announce an exclusive partnership with Charles Faram - one of the UK's leading hop merchants and a proud sponsor of Beer Unlocked - bringing a small group of women, non-binary and gender-diverse people into the heart of British hop growing for a day created just for us.

The Charles Faram Hop Walk® On Tap is a special experience day on Friday 18 September 2026, hosted by Charles Faram at their Worcestershire base and across some of the region's most beautiful hop farms. Charles Faram has created this day specifically for the Beer Unlocked community, and every place is completely free of charge.

What to expect

This is a packed, immersive day in the field. You'll visit working hop farms, meet the growers, and get hands-on with the harvest. Highlights include:

  • Tours of two farms, seeing development hops and varieties including Harlequin®, Olicana® and Progress

  • A visit to the historic picking shed with the iconic old Bruff machine

  • Lunch at The Hop Shed Brewery, including the HopTastic® tasting trial - four beers brewed from one base beer, each featuring a unique experimental hop variety

  • A behind-the-scenes tour of the Charles Faram site, including their pelleting plant, cold store and Freshpak line

  • A hands-on aroma experience with experimental and commercially released Charles Faram hops

  • The chance to finish the day at The Faram Arms, their pop-up pub with views across the Worcestershire countryside

The day runs from approximately 9:30am to 3:30pm, with a complimentary shuttle bus available from Worcester city centre.

Travel bursary available

We know that often the costs of getting somewhere are a barrier to participation. If travel costs would prevent you from taking part, you can apply for a Beer Unlocked travel bursary of up to £100 alongside your expression of interest.

Places are very limited

This is a rare opportunity to get behind the scenes of British hop growing, build connections with growers and industry peers, and deepen your knowledge of ingredients that define the beers we love - but there are only a few places available. We'd love to see a diverse range of people in the group, whether you're a brewer, a beer educator, work front-of-house, or are simply passionate about beer and where it comes from.

Sorry - all available places are now full.
